The CZ3000MKIII is a Direct Reading Bridge that has an additional Smart-Locate feature. The Smart-Locate test is a variation of the Murray Bridge which allows for the determination of the fault position even when no "good" conductors are present in the cable being tested.
The instrument has been engineered for reliable performance in tough conditions combining a microprocessor and precision analogue circuitry to provide fast and accurate measurement to the fault location. Factory options include wire gauge pre-programming, imperial or metric display, 120V or 250V Insulation Resistance (IR) test voltage, and multiple language support.
Self-test inbuilt terminals allow the operator to verify the performance of the instrument at any time. |

Key Features and Functions… · Fault & Insulation Resistance measurements up to 50 Mohm (independent of foreign battery) · Light weight & easy to handle (0.61kg) · User defined wire gauge support · Self test facility · Multi-gauge mode up to 20 sections · Accuracy in the present of foreign voltage · Continuous update mode every second · Foreign battery measurement · 2 or 3 wire length & locate measurements · Direct entry of known line length · Storage and retrieval of the last 8 measurements · Smart Locate - without the need of a good wire · Foreign Language support |

SMART-LOCATE MEASUREMENT CONDITIONS Previously, a good conductor would be required to perform the fault location. This would require taking another customer out of service, or rolling out a known good length of wire over the test distance. No longer is this required. Smart locate assumes that the pair is faulted in the one location, requires one leg to be twice as good as the other, and the fault resistance of two legs must be at least 100 times greater than the line resistance. In practical terms these conditions will nearly always be met.
Press FAULT/ON The instrument will automatically perform a line test, and display the line condition, fault resistance, and foreign battery voltage.
Press MEASURE LENGTH The instrument will calculate the resistive length of the wire. Alternatively, if the length is known, it can be entered using ENTER LENGTH function.
Press LOCATE The instrument will display distance to fault, and distance from fault to strap together with the total length of the selective wire gauge.
Press r or s The instrument can remember and display all of the parameters of the eight most recent fault location measurements. This information eliminates the traditional need for recording measurements. |
